Classic Images of The Smiths // canavarlar

A must for fans of Manchester past and in particular of The Smiths is an
exhibition of the bands most famous photographs at Manchester's Urbis
gallery, taken by Stephen Wright.

The pictures range from concert shots to more casual images around
Manchester and nearby Salford, including the iconic images taken outside
Salford Lads Club (pictured) . The Lads Club building, which you'll find in
Coronation Street, Ordsall, has become a mecca for Smiths fans all over
the world. Another image, featuring Morrissey with flowers hanging from
his back pocket at the now demolished Free Trade Hall, was recently voted
one of the top 50 rock pictures of all time by the NME.

The exhibition runs from August 30th to October 16th. There should be an
online presence for the exhibition on the Urbis site from the start of
September.
