«retroYou r/c» is an
interactive software
art project, which
is based on a
regular computer
game. Leandre
reprogrammed the
software of a racing
game in several
stages, by
manipulating the
rules through which
space, movement,
gravity etc. are
simulated. The game
as such is still
recognisable,
however it cannot be
navigated in the
usual way. The
application runs of
its own accord,
rather like a screen
saver, and reacts
only marginally to
the user’s actions.
