techne06 design performance

TECHNE 06 -being the first edition- is an international platform on “digital
performance” that takes place between 17 and 22 April in Istanbul .

The platform is intended to promote the field of “digital performance” in
Istanbul and to create a new network of artistic collaboration in the
European periphery. It is therefore, designed to offer the possibility of
presenting artistic works, and a platform for discussion and exchange of
knowledge and ideas.

TECHNE 06 will host 35 artists/researchers from 10 different countries.

The programme includes an exhibition of interactive installations,
performances, workshops, seminars, presentations and working groups.

The theme of TECHNE 06 is “Designing Perception”:

The developments in the fields of robotics, biotechnology and informatics
provided extensions for humans. The perception has become the object of
design. We are thus, in a critical phase in the history of mankind, in terms
of how to design the perception and how to evolve through the future.
