Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the collapse
of Soviet Union in 1992 Europe is in a process of constant change.
On the one hand there is an ongoing integrating process and on
the other a process of disintegration. Who should define Centre
and Periphery in this context?
Within each society there is a tension between Insiders and
Outsiders.
A tension that could be stimulating for democracy and nourish
tolerance but that also implies dangerous threats
The purpose of Citizens without Boundaries is to bring writers,
artists, journalists, academics and engaged citizens together in
fruitful transnational dialogues, that are broadened and deepened
by the following public debates in public spaces.
